Our R & D guy made me a Quasar SP look alike with 523nm LEDs.
Believe me, it's not that easy. You may end up with lots of burnt LEDs. |
MACrisis already wrote that it is not easy to build LED devices. I asked Rita about building LEDs. Not to discouarage anybody from putting LEDs together, but here is her answer:
Any ways,......to answer you in a nutshell,........everybody and I mean everybody says this...." oh it must be easy to make a LED device. It can't be hard. It doesn't take a rocket scientist to make one. How hard can it be to make one?"
Well guess what....its very hard. Its not about just going out and purchasing a bunch of LEDS....and looking at the wavelengths and hooking them up. We are not talking Christmas tree light here. Its called understanding physics, meaning electrical engineering. If it were that easy, believe me, everyone would be making their own devices....
I have had people, mostly men, say "I can make one. How hard can it be?" Then, guess what....they don't. Why?.....because they find out that it is a lot harder than they ever thought. Then they get a new found respect for the technology and how to build one. Trust me....I have male engineers that what to know how to make one...they try to pick my brains. There is a huge difference in the quality design and quality circuitry and quality components between companies. Like anything out there, there are very cheap components and very high quality components. |
