| This machine costs $7,000.00 My daughter has been researching Pro Micro Current machines and found prices from $500.00 up. Not understanding the difference among them she wrote to Nanci @ NCN and found out Nanci is working on a microcurrent machine that will be available in the next few months. |

| WOW Keliu! I'm so excited for you. I haven't been able to make a decision. The more videos I watch the more undecided I get. Now I wonder about the probes having to be positive and negative and in most devices the probes are not color coded. I wish PQ would come back and explain this. |
Polarity, negative and positive probes are only important when you are using a machine that has a direct current output (galvanic treatments) which is a current that flows in one direction only; when modulated as a wave, its amplitude is constant. When used as part of a skin rejuvenation treatment it is called galvanic current treatment. This current has distinct and important polarity and marked secondary chemical effects on the skin.
Disincrustation Treatment - using the - anode electrode, with the client holding the + cathode in their hand. This is used for deep cleansing of the skin, stimulation of sluggish skin with a build up of keratinised cells and oils.
Iontophoresis Treatment - using the + cathode electrode with the client holding the - anode in their hand. This is used for to push products into the skin, to hydrate and rebalance the skin after the disincrustation.
Contraindications - do not use galvanic current on skin/clients with rosacea, dermatitis and highly vascular conditions.
Microcurrent.
Microcurrent uses alternating current a current that periodically flows in opposite directions; its amplitude fluctuates as a square wave. You do not need to consider the polarity of your probes, as the polarity changes at each cycle of the wave.

I am on a quest to find out all I can about microcurrent...who knows I might change careers some day...I had a great lesson with Christine Byer and she encouraged me to seek out training though the internet if I didn't have anything local. I found this site and took the first part of the webinar this past weekend....lots of great information.

| If you have a good machine, which I think you do,technique is very important. Christine Byer was really good with providing a lesson. It is most helpful to follow someone's guidance when they are demonstrating on themselves....like her YouTube videos. The webinar I took goes through different techniques that address shortening and lengthening different muscles. I have learned from both Christine and the webinar training that a lot of the issues with our face are due to muscles needing to be stretched out and others needing to be tightened up.Getting the muscles relaxed takes years off the face. |
It also helps if you are tightening muscles, 0.3Hz is the most appropriate frequency and to relax muscles use 90Hz. All square waves.
PQ |
This is all very confusing to me...
How do we know which muscles need tightening and which need to be relaxed?
I just hope that CACI will be easy to use. |
I have a diagram to show you where you should relax and tighten muscles, I will need to scan it and then post it on here for you.

A guide on tight/relaxed muscles can age the face.
You need to tighten the relaxed areas and relax the tight areas with microcurrent.

Hi, I have done 5 treatments with my new Beautiful Image machine and thought I would share my initial thoughts.
The machine seems well made (should be for the price) and it is easy to switch between the different intensities. There is a dial that let's you change the amount of time between the different lifts and holds. This is nice to have while you are still learning all moves. It allows you extra time to move the wands to the new area.
There is a little chime that goes off when your done with each position. There is also a dial that adjust from 10 to 30 seconds depending on how long you want to spend on each position. The machine is pretty big and is not something you are going to take on a trip with you unless you don't plan on bringing any clothes in your suitcase.
The instructions, both book and DVD are good. I would have liked to have more pictures of the different moves in the book. Just so I wouldn't have to view the DVD each time but either way there is enough directions to get you going.
I do think the learning curve with this gadget is pretty high. The moves themselves are not hard. It's just a lot of things to learn and this is just with the basics. I do think I will be continuing to learn new moves for quite some time. Either through YouTube or private instructions. I knew this going into and would not have spent the money on this machine if that was not my intent. Just want others to know this is not something (in my opinion) that you just pick up and 5 minutes later your a pro.
As far as results are concerned. I think I have some lift in my cheek area. I am not sure if the cheeks area is actually lifted or just the area underneath (the hollows) look more sculpted. I also notice my eyebrow are higher but this last only till the next day. I haven't seen any change in my under eye area other then some decrease in under eye bag and my jowls are the same.
I don't like the feel of the Beautiful Image gel and I have a couple of acne break outs in my jaw area and upper cheekbone area where the wands are held. I have bought another gel from a different company and have used it also so I'm not sure which one is causing the breakouts.
That's it for now. Overall nothing earth shattering. I think it will take me longer to see results when using this machine at home vs going to a salon. Simply because it will take me awhile to get proficient at this technology vs a trained person. But since I own it I can take my time and I don't have to go someplace for treatments and this is a real plus. |

I have owned this machine for 6 months. I have done 30 treatments of an hour plus each time. The reason I bought this machine was because I was told that you could do 10 to 15 initial treatments (2 a week) and then keep your results up by doing one treatment a month. This is not been my experience at all.
After I do a treatment I get temporary lifting in the cheek area and the eyebrow area for maybe a day, max two. I also see some reduction in my neck lines for about the same time period. This is a very time consuming treatment to keep up especially with all the traveling I do. I knew this going in but like I mentioned above I thought after the initial series I could get by with 1 treatment a month.
The learning curve on this machine is pretty high. It is not hard to use but to get the most out of it you really need to learn the different holds/moves and how to work on your particular trouble areas. I personally don't feel you can get any lifting in the face by just rubbing the rods around on your face.
If this machine had cost a lot less money and could be used less often I might have a more positive review. For me it is about risk vs reward. I risked a lot of time and money and felt the reward fell short. I was never expecting "face lift" kind of results. But I did expect to have better and more longer lasting results overall. |

Cookie, thanks for this update. I am now very glad I didn't spring for something in this price range and complexity. I had done some reading about how you had to be familiar with the start point, end point, and "belly" of all the facial muscles for best results, and that was just too much for me.
There is definitely some criticism of units with fixed heads, but I will say there is minimal learning curve. |

I learned something from one of the videos I bought from Christine Byer that helped me. She basically says to think what a plastic surgeon would do if he/she was giving you a face lift.
To lift the jowl area they would pull the skin up to the ear area and then make a cut. Pull the muscle up and take any excess skin off and restitch. So you try to do the same thing to shorten the muscles by using your probes. The stationary probe is up towards the top of your ear turned horizontally and the lower probe takes the jowl area and tries to lift it towards the ear probe. In effect trying to shorten the muscles that have become elongated.
You can use the same type of concept on other muscle areas that have stretched. Like the area from the outer corner of your nose to the outer corner of your lip. Or you forehead area for the top of your eyebrows to the hairline. etc.
This is where I think the separate probes or gloves work better. I would think especially the gloves because I would think it is easier to grab the skin with gloves vs the probes.
I don't want to sound so negative and say microcurrent doesn't work. I think it does to a certain extent but for what I spent both time and money wise it has not had the payback I would have expected. |

I'm sorry too Cookie Thanks for sharing your honest and heart felt review.
Don't give up the ship though. Maybe you could just try a few little *tweaks*.
For instance. Since the primary goal of microcurrent is to produce ATP, which THEN accounts for the subtle plumping and lifting some are experiencing, you might be able to give your skin a little *food* to encourage ATP and collagen synthesis. Amino Acids, CoQ10, Alpha Lipoic Acid, L-Ascorbic Acid, Glutathione, Niacinamide and a few others come to mind.
If you have an LED, regular use also contributes to both ATP production as well as lymphatic drainage. Equally important is drinking water pre and post treatment for MC and LED treatments, which really helps to get the old sludge moving along and out.
It might sound silly to some, but I also swear by steaming my face prior to "any" treatment because it really gets the blood vessels opened, and just really makes my skin receptive to anything I throw at it... INCREASED CIRCULATION is wonderful for the skin. (Trust me when I embarrassingly tell you that I am a 49 year smoker, and you would never believe it by looking at my skin.)
What also helps me in my quest is a less is more gadget life..lol. When I use a gadget with the intention of generating ATP and collagen synthesis, I don't do a treatment more than twice a week any more. (Sadly, I haven't had time this summer for any play time, but I'm hoping to whip out a toy or two in the near future...
I'm root, root, rooting for ya Cookie, and really hope that your investment starts to pay off.
Cheering for you! |
