I was wondering about eyelash tinting. I've seen a few posts where it sounds like people are doing that. I have fairly dark, longish lashes...but mascara always seems to darken my under-eye area...even though I don't put anything on my lower lashes (think I must rub my eyes without realizing it...because I try not too!) I'm not the most coordinated person...so am a bit afraid of messing up eyelash tint. Any advice you have would be most appreciated! Thanks! |

I use the 1000 Hour Lash that is discussed in the thread linked above.
It does work, and I like having darker lashes at all times, particularly when I wake up in the morning. BUT it is not the same as mascara. I feel like the lash tint pretties up my normal, make-up free face, but I still prefer to also wear mascara for more oomph.
I have the same problem as you with mascara leaving little rings under my eyes. For me, the solution was using Kiss Me mascara. It's a totally different type of mascara - it basically puts these little tubes around your lashes, instead of just depositing color. Some people love it, others don't like it, finding the removal process cumbersome (I've never had any problem whatsoever) and the effect less dramatic (it's true - this is a basic mascara, not designed to dramatically lengthen or thicken or curl lashes). If you do a search on here, you'll find plenty of posts on it. There also was a recent post on a similar mascara, that does the same thing with the tubes, but also lengthens, though I don't remember which one it is. You can read all the varying viewpoints. Either way, consensus even amongst those who don't like the mascara is that it doesn't rub off at all, unlike traditional mascara, so it may be ideal for your problem, as it was for mine. |

I use the 1000 hour lash tint aswell, and love it. Like others, I still wear mascara, but the biggest difference for me is that I don't like to wear masacara on my lower lashes as I always end up with black under my eyes in no time at all. So having the lower lashes tinted gives them the added colour I need. |

here's another vote for the 1000 hr lash tint! I use brown on my eyebrows and the blue/black on my lashes. |

THANKS ladies!!! I'll definitely read the other thread. Channel 79...where did you get the Kiss Me mascara? And...is it easy to wash off or do you need a special remover??? |

OK...ordered the lash tint. Took your suggestions on the color too...got the blue/black. Yippeee!!!
Channel79...I used my head, and checked EDS products...and found the Kiss Me mascara. Yep! I had to order it too!!!
Can't wait for these products to get here. And, the "tubules" sound both scary and cool! Will let you know how it goes!
Thanks again!!! At 43 (almost 44...a week from tomorrow...OOPS...today!) I'm FINALLY growing into a woman...rather than just a little girl (well....mostly...at least w/respect to skin care and makeup!) |

In order to remove Kiss Me mascara, I just wash my face like usual. I use Cetaphil cleanser. I rub lightly on my eyes as I wash my face, and the tubes just ball up and wash away.
The problem some people have with removing it is that they feel like they never get all of it off, and they are tugging it off and taking eyelashes off with it at the same time. Which is true - if you tug on the dry lash with dry mascara on it, the eyelash is coming out.
But I simply never tug, and I never have a problem getting it all off. Just gently wipe at the wet lashes, and the tubes will all come off. Any loose flakeys clinging to the ends or on your face will brush off when dry a minute later. |
