I recently graduated from nursing school and turned 30 Sad . The past 2 years have been very stressful and I noticed how it's taken a toll on me. I have been reading the reviews, etc... from the forums for a few weeks and I am so confused on which products are the best. I'm trying to find the best skin regimen to follow to prevent early signs of aging and lessen what I have. I have been using Strivectin for over 2 months and havent noticed any change. I need to get rid of the bags under my eyes which appeared a few months ago and my puppet lines. I have been looking at a few products but its so confusing to figure out which products are the best. Some of the products I reviewed were Relax-a-line, Skinceuticals, Cellex-C and Avotox. Can anyone help me find products that really work, especially a really good moisturizer? Confused

Hello and Welcome on board Jul1073 Smile

I can't help you much right now about a good skincare regimen. Always clean, tone and moisturise your skin. It depends on the condition of your skin which products you would need to improve your skin.

All I want to say is whatever you use or do, a sunscreen is a must! Cool

Good luck,

Hi! I would like to share my skin care regimen:

Every morning I:
*Cleanse my body with Godiva Licorice Whitening Soap
*Cleanse my face with either Cetaphil or Clearasil
*Sometimes, I scrub with Body Shop Soya and Quinoa body scrub
*For my footsies, I use Freeman
*After bathing, I either use Godiva Licorice Whitening Lotion or Beauty Bar's fragrance free Goat's milk lotion
*For my face i moisturize with Aveeno Positively Radiant daily moisturizer with UVA/UVB protectants then top it off with Neutrogena Fine Fairness with UVA/UVB protectants as well.

In the evenings:
*Cleanse with either Godiva Licorice Whitening Soap or Beauty Bar's Goat's milk soap
*Face, still Cetaphil or Clearasil
*Tone my face and neck with Nivea Alcohol-Free Moisturizing Toner
*Moisturize skin with either Godiva Licorice Lotion or Beauty Bar's Goat's milk lotion
*On some parts of my body, especially really dry ones like my heels, elbows and the like, I use Godiva Squalane Anti-Stress Lotion, very good moisturizer indeed, I also apply this as first aid to mild burns, and if you scar from insect bites, applying the Anti-Stress lotion after the bite will subside inflammation without leaving dark discolored marks!

Welcome Jul1073!

I have a feeling that everyone who answers this post will have a different skincare regimen for you to try! Laughing

But I can tell you about the Relax-A-Line Serum. I got a bottle of it b/c I was starting to get those deep lines in my forehead and between my eyebrows. I have been using it religiously for maybe about a month now, and I am addicted! It really does work! It softens the lines and makes it not so easy to crumple up your forehead (thus reducing future lines.) And you can't beat the price. I think it was like $36.

As for a good moisturizer, it really would depend on your skin type. Are you normal, dry, acne-prone, sensitive? I use two different moisturizers - Hymed Super Hydrating Lotion, and Murad Skin Perfecting Lotion. They are both oil-free, I alternate them every now and then. During the day I use Murad Tinted Sunblock for the Face. It too is oil free, so it doesn't clog my pores, but it is still moisturizing.

As for eye creme, I am blown away by Hylunia's Super Moisturizing Eye Treatment. Besides the Relax-A-Line, it's the only other product that I have really seen make a noticable difference in how my skin looks. I posted info about it in a previous post. Here is the link if you want to read about it and other eye cremes that other members suggest:

Good luck! Very Happy

Hi there! Smile

I would like to know what type of skin have you got as that influences product`s choice a lot. What and where are the problem zones? Are you sensitive to or break out because of any ingredients as far as you know?
Im 27 ,have combo skin (oily Tzone) ,have a good diet (or so I think:)) and have used products that got rid of my fine lines around eyes, nose and mouth (yes, I had some because of my stressful lifestyle for the past 6 years), also I know what DOESNT work for me (funnliy enough,it`s mostly the most expensive skincare Laughing ). To summarise
1. what have you been using
2. what effects did it have, especially the negative ones
3. what is your skincare budget
4. what are your preferrences and beliefs (some love natural stuff even though it can be harsh, some only like hitech)?

Puma7,
Sorry for the delay in my reply but I haven't had a chance over the past month to do anything. Anyway, geting to your questions

1- I've tried Strivectin, Relax a line, Emu oil, & an Avon product (can't remember the name).
2- No sensitivity with anything I've tried so far and I didn't see any difference from the products I've used.
3- No budget, whatever works is worth it to me (except the price of a facelift)
4- No preference or beliefs.
5- My skin in generally oily, however, after I shower my skin feels very dry and tight but after about 1 hour it's oily.
6- My diet lacks water, I know is the best thing for healthy skin, and I've been trying to drink at least 40oz a day but that doesn't work, other than that it's not too bad.
7- My problem areas are:
a- Lines on my forehead, and one between my eyebrows.
    b- Laugh lines Sad
c- Under my eyes - I don't have puffiness or dark circles, they seem to look sunken in
....like their missing plumpness although they may be darker at times.

By the way I have acne prone skin and deep pores.

Thanks for your help with this I'm so confused after reading the message boards.

I am not really an expert, but I give you some suggestions anyway.

It sounds to me that you are using products that is too strong for your skin. What you should start with is "normalizing" your skin as much as possible before starting with any special products for wrinkles etc.

You should try a cleanser that do not dehydrate your skin, it should not feel tight and dry after cleansing! I would suggest a oil based cleansing oil like Babor (my prefrence) or Decleor. Dr. Hauschka cleansing cream is also nice.

Avoid toners with alcohol.

Find a very moisturising facial cream. Also a serum might be helpful, like decleor neroli oil.

Drink water...It is good for your body and skin!!

Hello Jul1073
It is sometimes quite bewildering with the many options and opinions presented at the forum.

I suggest that you start just one or 2 items that should be core to dealing with your concerns, test out its suitability and add on the regime slowly. Otherwise, it is difficult to identify what works and what doesn't for you.

Since you do not have sensitive skin and it is not dry, starting on a basic Vit C regime may be good - I did that and it did wonders for my skin.

Perhaps, a 10% strength Vit C is the way to start. Just add on the Hydra B5 Hyaluronic Acid for Hydration. The Hydra B5 should hydrate your skin, easing its tightness without adding unwanted oil. Use your existing moisturizer and cleanser. Once this initial step works, you can then change your moisturizer, add on other enhancers, etc. Of course, please remember your sun protection.

Hope this helps
Jenny
