I started looking at the MAC 2007 smokey eye palette and it might be closer to what you're looking for than the 2006 version. It looks like it would make a lighter, not quite so dramatic smokey eye. I liked it so much I ordered one for myself! |

I've always taken doing a smokey eye to mean having a dark color lining the lids that graduates into lighter shades of the same color as you go up the eyelid. The lightest shade goes under the brow, the middle shade on the lid and the darkest shade is used as a liner. All these colors should be very well blended so that it is not clear where one begins and the other ends.
