hello,
I have used so many self tanners, some are nice some aren't so nice. I am really pale so many of them go yellowinsh on me because i have no pigment of my own. I used the roc one for a while, and it was a nice brownish, but now they no longer make the one i used. Any recommendations would me much appreciated!!!

hi petu!

I am pretty pale too and have tried many self-tanners. I really like Fake Bake and Neostrata but I recently tried St. Tropez and I think I like it best of all. All three are self-tanners that you are supposed to put on at night and shower off the next morning due to the dark color of the lotion itself (can't go out during the day looking like you've been rolling around in mud Very Happy ). They all give a beautiful color but the St. Tropez dried nicely and wasn't sticky at all; I couldn't even tell I had it on while in bed. With the other two I was more sticky and was really looking forward to that morning shower. If you decide to try any of these it is important that you either wear gloves while applying or scrub your hands thoroughly afterwards because otherwise they will leave a really dark stain on your palms.

Was it the Whipped Bronze Mousse from St. Tropez that you like, Mamawalnut? That's the one I like best. I probably would never have tried it if it weren't for Avalange's rave review.

I also love the St. Tropez Self-Tan Remover Travel Pack Packets. I always seem to goof somewhere and this stuff works really well at easily removing it.

Havana, the St. Tropez I'm using is actually the lotion but the mousse has gotten great reviews as you mentioned. I'm glad to hear you like it. I may try it next after my lotion runs out. That's a good idea about the remover towels too. I always scrub my hands for several minutes (plus use a final scrub of toothpaste; I think I read that tip on MUA and it works pretty well) to get all the residue off but the towels probably work better and quicker.

You really have to try foam applicator mitts - they're awesome!! (and I was skeptical at first) This is the brand I use, but they're others on the market...........

They give you a flawless application and you never have to worry about staining your hands.

I did a product review on my ultimate fave for self-tanner. Here it is............

thanks for the link
SO it is a flawless application? I guess somehow i got it in my head that using gloves would make it streaky. those look like they wouldn't do that though

The mitts really do a great job.....no streaking at all. Using a light touch, they work beautifully on the back of your hands, tops of your feet and the underside of your arms. Then, you just throw them in the wash when you're done.
