Hi All...
I'm new to the forum, and have found through my browsing, an invaluable resource for my skin-care product * spam alert *. I don't feel at all strange anymore to have 5 cleansers, that many or more toners, and umpteen treatment products (not to mention a fortune spent over a lifetime on this lovely decadence!)
I'm now 40-something, have oily skin...which only seems to get touchy on hormonally charged days, and I spent my youth in the sun (as a lifeguard and other sun-worshipping activities). Only now do I realize that sunscreen is my dearest skin-care product. But I have hyperpigmentation, large pores, and a more than a few acne scars to show for it all now.
I have also repented my mispent youth by becoming nearly natural in every way. I eat organic products, grass-fed beef & bison, etc...and try to use skin-care products with botanical and essential oil bases. My skin and psyche seem to thrive on this diet of mostly gentle and comfortingly sweet-smelling product. I try to steer away from SLSs in my products, and won't touch petroleum additives that lock up my pores faster than you can say "pompelmousse".
My quandry is this...I would love to get rid of all these telltale signs of sun-worship while still using the most natural products available. I have looked at Yonka, SkinCeuticals, Biologica, etc. I'm now deathly afraid of hydroquinone after reading about it through this site...I've been recommended "Skin Medica TNS Recovery Complex", which looks like a winner...and what else? I need to de-age my skin, get rid of scars and hyperpigmentation, and smooth, smooth, my complexion. What works?
Thanks so much...Cathy |

I used to RAVE on all the boards about TNS! I liked it but $$$ so stopped.
I am 43 and I am a distributor for Epiderm. My skin tends to be dry-dehydrated and use the Epidermx (microdermabrasion cream) Camellia oil, Derma Butter and the new Ascension mask. For the acception of the mask, the Epiderm line is 100% natural. They will be changing ingredients in the mask for more natural down the road.
I have used tons of skin in the last few years and reviewed cosmetics so when I happend upon Epidermx I knew it was great! My routine is soooo much more simple now than it used to be!
I used the Vitamin C's, Copper peptides, AHA, peels etc.I do use on ocassion hydroquinone for my sunspots but Epidermx helps my skintone a bit too and ALL natural. |

Hi,
You are right sunscrren is your best friend.
After working in a Salon (front desk) I would highly recommend SkinCeuticals. I would see so many clients helped by this product. Don't know if you have used Vit. C as of yet. I would start with 10% and move to 20% once your skin has adjusted. The B serum is know to be great over it.
Good luck. |

I use a very natural skincare line (cleanser, toner, moisturizers) with an aloe vera base. It's hard to find. I found it through a friend who is a skincare company owner.
Prior to this, I was using another all natural with herbs, phytos, etc., but it was just too "active" for my skin. The aloe based product is much gentler.
For sunscreen, I use Skinceuticals Moisturizing Sunblock, SPF 20 and it works as a sunblock and moisturizer all in one and has worked well for me.
I have combination skin with an oily forehead that has gotten more oily with age. The aloe based products backed off the oiliness in the forehead area somewhat.
I also use a anti-aging masque and serum that uses aloe barbadensis gel as a base.
So, aloe is my new best friend!

I am with you when you say that you eat healthy, organic foods and grain fed chickens. No meat for me.
The best natural lines I have tried so far are:
Jurlique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I use OCM for my face at night to cleanse. Then I apply almond oil, a drop, around my eyes and crows feet.
My skin has improves a lot since doing this.
I apply non natural product, Boots7 day cream in the mornings, after washing face with just water. |

Raw organic apple cider vinegar is a really good toner. I used it to get rid of perioral dermatitis, and was amazed at how quickly the lesions disappeared. If it burns your skin you can dilute it with water. |

I have tried several products of Avalon and juice-beauty, they have good effect in moisturizing, while they are not enough for my require in whitening and anti-wrinkles, some organic product also add some ingredients of anti-wrinkles. |

I have used Botani squalane. Did nothing for me. Didn't repurchase. I prefer rosehip oil as i can see the difference in my skin if i stop using it. |

The "buzz" now is Sea buckthorn oil. High in Omega 7's. Tonya Zavasta has a cream containing SBO that looks interesting - she's an inspiration too with a raw food lifestyle. |

I'd like to recommend Diana Stalder's products. I've also stumbled upon good reviews of this line of product upon various forum sites, and of course I've proven it with experience.
But surely, I couldn't agree more with the benefits of having a healthy lifestyle, coupled with proper diet and exercise! |
