I've heard about all kinds of benefits of mineral makeups. I have acne prone skin and scar easily so I'm very cautious. Is there any good reason that mineral powders wouldn't clog pores? |

I definitely encountered clogged pores when I used MMU with bismuth in it. But after I switched to a non-bismuth formula, I had no issues. |

I have acne prone skin that scars easily and I've been using MMU for about a year with no issues. In fact I find the MMU covers previous scars very nicely, better than any liquid or stick cover up I've used in the past. I use Lumiere (Veena Velvet formulation). The ingredients listed on their web site are: premium grade serecite (colorless mica), titanium dioxide, avena sativa, zinc oxide, iron oxide, magnesium stearate. |

I found MMU is better for my acne prone skin than liquid foundation I used before. By the way I am using BE but I know little about the ingredients. |

I use Raesin Images, and they do NOT include Bismuth. |

I love mineral makeup and have just recently converted over from liquid makeups!
The first brand I tried was Bare Escentuals...however, I found that after a couple of days my skin broke out in little bumps all over and then got very dry.
I use Everday Minerals now (Bismuth free) and I love it...super good prices too. You can get a free sample kit to determine your colouring and you only have to pay shipping (for me-approx. $5).
Their link is:www.everydayminerals.com
PS My sensitive skin has improved using mineral makeup and I'm acne prone too. |

well i would say so ,the advertising says it is good for the blamish skin. but for the make up point, i do not think they are as good as normal make up stuff.
i have tried the EDM mineral loosing powder, and the la mer normal loosing powder. after 4 hours. la mer loosing powder still look as the same as 4 hours befor, still brighten. but the EDM mineral loosing powder let ur face look very dark though!~ |

Miessense doesn't contain bismuth.
Dr. Hauschka doesn't contain bismuth.
Actually mineral powder (without bismuth) in my readings is the most suggested for problematic skin because it doesn't clog pores, and skin breathes through normally. |

Apart from the ones that gave you the red bumps (see above), obviously. |

It can depend on the brand. As stated above bismuth is a problem for many.
One thing to keep in mind is that if you try a MMU that doesn't work for you do try another. Although the ingredients are very similar, the quality of the ingredients can vary from to brand.
Lumiere is my favorite, with Meow as a close 2nd. |

Another thing to remember with the powder form of MMU is to make sure that you keep your brush really clean. I notice that if I don't wash the brush that I apply the foundation with regularly that my skin takes a beating. |

Bellydonna, I found the same with my acne prone skin. I gave up on them for that reason. I couldn't begin to wash that brush everyday and felt like that is what I needed to do. |

I'm 6 months into my glominerals pressed powder and it didn't give me small bumps like the other non-mineral ones that I've used before, so I'm sticking to it now.
I also use the sponge that comes with it instead of a brush and finds the coverage satisfactory - of course it can't be compared to using foundation, concealer, loose powder, ie. all the works. I've sensitive and acne prone skin and it covers up the redness and the smaller scars and acne. I apply it directly after my sunblock and nothing else. |

MMU is situable for my sensitive skin, does not cause me any adverse reaction. I've using the blushers and eye colors more. |

They are less likely to clog pores compared to conventional (non-mineral) make up because they have very few ingredients. Most are inert powders that do not form a film on your skin. Conventional make up has many more ingredients so the tendency to cause pimples and clog pores is higher. However, some people who are clog prone may still have problems using mineral make up. They may have to trial different brands before hitting on one which doesn't aggravate their skin problems. |

I see. There're just too many products in the market now. I'm so clueless. |

In my experience, it did. I always use MMU. It's better to my skin. |
