| I think I got them from the laser genesis. Some of the pitts look like they are a half inch. They are shallow but you can see them really good in certain lights and also in pictures taken outside. I am also getting lines going down my face. I have been using epidermx microdermabrasion lightly every night for a couple of months. It really hasnt helped. Please tell me what to do to smooth out these scars and lines. I am so depressed. I dont even want people getting to close to me because of it. I have oily rosacea skin. Please help me. |

| I'm sorry you are feeling so down about your skin. Ok...I have no experience with what you are dealing with, but I am intuiting that using a dermaroller may help fill those area's back out. I'm not talking about the little dermaroller (.5mm)--I'm recommending a 1.5mm or 2.0. I am suggesting this because I had the experience of getting a cortisone shot in my face, which left me with a sunken-in spot. The dermatologist warned me about this, but I wanted the shot anyway. Sure 'nuff...it left me with a helluva dent in my face. I dermarolled it and within 5- 6 weeks or so, it filled back out. I was amazed. The other thing I would suggest is that you stop doing the dermabrasion! It is thinning your skin out.... |

I thought dermabrasion of any kind will thicken the skin through production of collagen? Maybe not...
I know it isnt the same thing but i once saw a study where acne scarred patients did a 50 % glycolic weekly and topical vit c daily for six months. The results were very impressive.
I would either do this or follow mountaingirls suggestion and do the dermaroller, maybe in combination with retin a.
Whatever you do, stick with it for six months or so to assess any improvement.
Lasers seem to be an absolute nightmare for some people. It sounds as though you will need to give your collagen the best chance of rebuilding itself. This HAS to include your diet. Take vitamin c and copper supplements if necessary and also take an amino acid supplement, depending on whether your diets good or bad......and stay away from sugar!
Good Luck |

You might want to read this thread, both Annie19 and wirrlygig have situations of IPL damage and belong to a forum specifically for people that have had negative experiences with laser treatments. One or the other has the web site in the signature line at the bottom of their posts. Maybe there are good recommendations on the forum?
