Sad
I just can't seem to find the answer to some questions I have about the micro-needling roller. Most importantly - the size of the needles and the depth of penetration.

I recently purchased a "ZGTS Clinicares Treatment Solution" roller. It has 540 needles (Titanium)and they are 1.5 mm in length. I've seen many posts here debating the length of needles to be used and I'm wondering about the depth that I should actually penetrate my skin to with this roller AND how do I know if I am actually doing that? My face does get red and I sneeze a lot and my nose waters when I use it so I want to be sure that I am doing it correctly to warrant the discomfort. I tried it out on my arm when I first got it and pushed hard to gauge how hard I would have to push on my facial skin and it seems as if when the needles penetrate to their full depth it draws a lot of blood.

I also would like to know what time interval I should leave between micro-needling and using the glycolic acid peel. Do the two methods complement each other or would you advise sticking with one or the other? I am getting very large pores in my T-zone and I really would like to minimize these as much as possible. I am 52 yrs. old and have also noticed in the past year that the skin on my cheeks by my nose is beginning to visibly lose elasticity and I have a "meanie line" between my eyes that is beginning to NOT go away when I change my facial expression.

Thanks for any advice anyone has and I'm sorry if this has been addressed in another post.

I'm guessing the reason you have no replies to your post is because we all had to learn the basics by first wading through the posts...check out the stickies...

Right on BFG... I read all hundred some pages (after all, we are shoving needles into our faces, a little research should be mandatory) before I even bought a roller. Then I reread them all after it arrived. Laughing

That's the point I was making though. Not that I wasn't willing to do (and have done)the research but, that I can't find an answer to those particular questions I asked. I don't know, is it so much trouble for someone to answer the question again, or at least point me to a particular post if they know of it?

I tried needlling few years ago, just did couple of times and decided not to do it again.. anyways.. the whole needle does not penetrate your skin, just the tip of it,so if you use 1.5mm roller, the entire 1.5 mm will not enter your skin , unless you hammer your face with the roller!!! Wink

I believe the length of the needle has got something to do with the electric charge..

However a 1.5 mm needle will go a bit deeper in the skin than a 1 mm needle..

Are you sure you were able to penetrate the needles all the way in your arm?

Thanks for your answer to my post---I do appreciate it. I got the feeling that no one is answering because they feel I should have to slog away looking for it in other posts like they did ---even if I can't find the answer and I HAVE slogged away, lol!

Yes, I think I actually did penetrate my arm to the full length of the needle, or darn close Confused , it really hurt and bled, A LOT. I wanted to see (or feel) what it would be like before I actually tried it on my face. Needless to say, I did not push that hard when I did it on my face.

I have decided to just use the acid peel on my face for a few months until I see some real results and then begin again to use the microneedle roller to maintain my skin. I will also be using argan oil alternately with some other oils for nourishing and moisturizing. I have used the acid peel twice and am already seeing some results.

Again, thanks for your reply. I have never posted on a forum where the people seem so unwilling to just give answers or point one to them elsewhere so it was certainly appreciated that you took the time to answer where others did not.

Sorry you took it that way crimsonyuri, my purpose was to guide you to the threads where many who dermaroll follow.
If you post on those threads people who get notifications and may well have the answers you are seeking are most likely to respond. Smile

That's why I prefaced my post with "I just can't seem to find the answer to some questions I have about the micro-needling roller...". But thank you, you did point out the pages for derma-rolling!
