I have to admit that I had to Google BB Creams because I had absolutely no idea what they were. For others who may have been living under a rock like me - this is from Wikipedia:

BB cream, also known as Blemish Balm or Blemish Base, is a cosmetic item sold in Korea.[citation needed]

It was initially used by dermatologists to help laser surgery patients protect, soothe and refine highly sensitive skin while providing light coverage for post-laser scars, acne and other blemishes.

Originally formulated in Germany, BB cream has in recent years gained a huge following for its skin-regenerating properties and is now also widely used in Asia to provide natural-looking skin coverage. Korean celebrities and cosmetic companies were the first to discover BB cream, and it's popularity has now spread from Korea to Japan and South East Asia.

So my question is: What skin-regenerating properties do these creams contain?

This thread discusses some of the various BB Creams and shares a few ingredient listings. There are also a couple of links to blogs (on the first few pages) with packaging photos that include ingredient listings as well as bb cream comparisons and reviews: Smile

Not sure, the seem to be in their own class of skin care-cosmetics?

BB Cream, aka Blemish Balm is an innovative multifunctional product category that blends skincare
and cosmetic using botanical ingredients. It started off as a soothing treatment balm that dermatologists
and surgeons used on patients who underwent laser skin treatments. It was used to help shield and
protect as well as regenerate delicate skin. Korean celebrities soon noticed and acted on this cream
sparking a huge craze in Korea, due to its excellent results. The craze has grown exponentially
into over 10 countries and now in North America.

What is it? BB cream moisturizes, covers up naturally while rejuvenating skin underneath, as well as
a sun protectant. Some have whitening and wrinkle repair as well as a glossy shimmer. The colour
seeps into the skin naturally that it hardly seems like one has makeup on (unlike foundations) yet sill
creating a flawless look. This is why it usually comes in one colour (the more you rub, the more it ‘seeps’
into the skin). It is also a natural moisturizer and makes the skin feel dewy and not oily. BB Creams are
made from high grade nutrition with anti-bacterial, anti-fungal and anti-oxidating properties that are
healthy for the skin. The ingredients vary in different types of BB creams but BRTC’s bb creams have
many plant extracts and derivatives. Some of the ingredients used in BRTC BB creams include
Allantoin,
green tea, tea tree oil, Portulaca Oleracea, grapefruit and special indian bark.

BRTC is an original BB Cream brand that has grown in all major Asian countries. It is
endorsed by
doctors, dermatologists, popstars and other celebrities. BRTC is regarded as one of the highest grade
of BB Creams and is regarded as a medical brand and sold to many hospitals, derm spas and
retail locations. BRTC products start with a strong R&D process and products are derived from a
combination of 9 different patents to solve specific skin problems. BRTC undergoes a rigorous safety,
heavy metals and 3rd party efficacy tests to ensure its suitability for all skin types focusing on sensitive
skin. BRTC is now compliant with FDA and suitable to the local market.

Thanks so much DarkMoon, now I'm a little better educated on this subject.I have and use the Clinique Sheer City Block SPF 25 and I would have to agree that it is more of an anti-aging/sunscreen type of a product, however I do love it for days when I don't want to wear any heavy makeup etc. Smile
