Fillers like Juvederm or Restylane. There is also a surgery for uplifting the corners of the mouth. |

Welcome Salli, I had juvederm over a year ago and it worked really well,I'm a smoker and at the Dr.office they said it might not last as long for me,but so far its been 1 year and 2months,but I do understand that some it doesn't last very long and other it does. |

hi salli,
excuse my bluntness but i see that you're mature like myself, and am sure you're experienced with many topical products. myself, am using valmont and it has done wonders for me.
what i included in my anti aging skincare is facial massage... do-it-yourself-at-home facial lymphatic drainage massage performed twice a day, during the morning and evening cleansing routine, and it takes minutes. many members are getting wonderful results, and some instantaneous. it is here on the EDS forum under DIY.
the tanaka massage is free, easy, highly effective, and natural. i highly recommend.
good luck! |

llina, I've looked at the tanaka massage and it did look interesting. I do have a few questions. Does it stretch the skin much? How long does it take to start seeing results? Thanks. |

you're really not stretching the skin but massaging the underneath muscle (muscle of the face). you're stimulating the skin lightly, helping your face to detox naturally... as you follow along the lymphatic drain system.
i'm not an expert nor experienced at this. i'm just beginning.
i'm sure if you go to the thread someone will help u there.
i had results in a couple of weeks. my best friend had immediate results.

that is the thread. there is an original that was monsterously long and confusing because it was a combination of 2 methods... and we all had problems understanding japanese.
why i like this massage, is because i believe it really works. besides that fact that it is natural and free, this is something that i add to my skincare routine. something that i can control how frequent, when i need it, and at what strength (lightly or harder).
to me, this massage is a bonus to quality topical porducts and beauty gadgets. |

Well salli you would be doing yourself a favor by not purchasing anything! Sadly there is NOTHING to remove lines, nothing, no cream, lotion, potion. You can use any moisturizer to make them LOOK BETTER, but really thats about it. They won't remove any of your lines. You could use a filler, but thats always noticeable. Other than use of a good sunblock to prevent further lines down the road, I don't know what else to say. Sorry. |

Creams, lotions and potions did not work on my pesky lines. My face looked tired and worn out all the time. So I got Juvederm about a year and a half ago and since I am loosing weight I probably will need another treatment soon. I was lucky enough to find a really good doc., and it looked so natural that my husband who notices everything did not notice! For me it was worth every penny and more! |

The lines that run from the corner of the mouth to the chin are commonly referred to as marionettes - because they make you look like a puppet!
These are the hardest lines to get rid of because they are basically caused by facial sagging and loss of volume. I have them too and I absolutely HATE them. Getting a filler in the cheeks can help, because that can provide a little structure to the face. Unfortunately, the line formed by the marionettes is the most difficult to fill and results can vary. I've had it done a number of times and have not been happy with the results. I think it takes a very experienced person to place filler here properly.
Some people on the Forum have claimed good results from facial exercise, but this hasn't worked for me either. |

Given the spotty results of the Juvederm regarding these lines, I think I'll give exercise a try and see if I can't at least lessen them a bit or at the very least prevent them from worsening. Would anyone be willing to make a recommendation on which program works best for this particular problem? |

salli,
facial exercises are listed below. please note i do not use them and have never tried. it seems there are threads promoting these exercises as they have found results, and there are some threads claiming it had deepened their wrinkles and/or made their face worse. as i have stated, i have NOT use these, so please proceed with caution...
