To take proper care of your skin, you need to know your skin type. Talk with your esthetician for individual skin care advice and product information.

Dry skin peels and flakes due to a lack of natural oil and moisture. Wash twice a day with a moisture-based cleanser. Your skin may be sensitive to new products.
Normal skin has few breakouts, tight pores and a clear complexion. Clean with mild products to avoid possible irritation or allergic reactions, and treat against signs of aging and sun damage.
Combination skin has patches of oily skin, usually on the bridge of the nose, forehead and chin (known as the “T” zone) and dry or normal skin, usually on the cheeks, eyes and around the lips. Use special toners and drying agents on the “T” zone, but do not use drying cleansers for overall cleansing, they may irritate some areas.
 Moisturize where you need it.
Oily skin tends to have a constant shine with excess oil production and acne problems. Cleanse regularly and treat with oil-free moisturizers and treatment products. However, too much washing can cause surface dehydration and irritate your face, prompting an increase in oil production and breakouts.

The Magic of Music

Every culture since the beginning of time has used music to create specific moods. Use music for inspiration and to create more energy within you. What songs or performers get your juices going? Tina Turner? Beethoven? The Beatles? All of this music contains a rhythm that is 120—150 beats per minute, which is double the resting heart rate, and energizing to the human system. Start your day with energizing music or any time you need a pick-me-up. You actually will begin to program yourself to be more enthusiastic!

Eye rejuvenation

The Tibetan Eye Rejuvenation Therapy is a very relaxing treatment that cools the eyes and relaxes the face, eliminating much of the telltale signs of stress. While the treatment emphasizes the feet, it relieves tension and strain in and around the eyes, and they become naturally soft and moist. You may have heard that “the eyes are the window to the soul” Eastern philosophies claim the eyes display the degree to which individuals are experiencing joy. When conditions develop in and around the eyes, they indicate deeper issues that should be addressed. Ask your skin care professional for more information or a referral for this unique treatment.

Makeup Tips for the Mature Woman

Regardless of your age, makeup application is a key factor in how you look and feel. Follow these simple tips to help you to look your best.

1. Since mature skin often is sensitive, cleanse your skin with a product containing azulene or aloe vera, and use a softening and moisturizing toner.

2. Always apply an SPF makeup base or moisturizer.

3. If you use foundation, choose one that is water-based, and apply it with a makeup sponge while your skin is still moist.

4. Soft shades of blush and eye shadow will help enhance facial features.

5. When using and eyebrow pencil, using little strokes, not straight lines, will help avoid an artificial look.

6. Use a lip liner that is the same shade as your lipstick, preferably a pastel color.

7. If you use a light pressed powder as a finishing touch, top off any excess with a tissue.

For more application tips and product information for mature skin, consult with your esthetician.
Remove Unwanted Hair—Comfortably
The field of electrology has advanced substantially during the last decade. Thanks to new innovations, more comfortable treatments are available for permanent removal of your unwanted hair. Electrolysis epilators have gone from tubes to high-tech computer chips, and high-quality equipment and sterilization guidelines provide you with a variety of safe and effective treatments. These services often can be found in day spas, medical universities, physicians’ offices and private practices. Seek advice from your esthetician or physician to find out if you are a likely candidate for electrolysis.
